WHY HMHY EXIST
HMHY was born from Michelle's personal journey and a deep calling to break the cycle of incarceration, poverty, and generational trauma. After witnessing the barriers returning citizens face, limited housing, unemployment, and the stigma of a past record, Michelle led the charge for Ban the Box in Richmond, opening doors for thousands.
What began as a reentry organization has evolved into a full-scale community stabilization movement, meeting people where they are and walking with them every step of the way.
We believe every person deserves a second chance and the support to build a better future.
